Coordination Section

Mission

The Coordination Section is a one-stop first point of contact for those seeking counseling, including students, faculty and staff members, and other concerned parties (parents, etc.). It is responsible for coordinating connections to appropriate support on and off campus.

Services

(1) Coordination on and off campus

The Coordination Section coordinates with all campus help desks, off-campus support facilities, parents, and other resources to allow students and faculty and staff members to receive seamless support. We also offer consultation services to parents and other concerned parties who are struggling with how to find ways to helping the student.

(2) Early response

<Students>
The Coordination Section holds numerous activities including Incoming Student Interviews for new students in May, Startup Information Sessions for students having trouble earning credits (including students returning to school after taking time off) in September and March. Additionally, it approaches students who have consistently been absent from a specific class.
<Faculty>
We act early in coordination with workplace supervisors, occupational health doctors, and off-campus support facilities to allow faculty and staff members to be connected to the support they need.

(3) Crisis response

We respond in coordination with the concerned on-campus departments in the event of an incident, accident, or suicide. We are responsible for coordinating a Post-Incident Response Team.

(4) Psychoeducational activities

We provide preventive and developmental support for students and faculty and staff members through classes, workshops, group activities, and distribute custom-made self-care resources (including information on self-care skills for promoting mental and physical health)

(5) Recommendations for campus-wide student and faculty and staff members support systems

We analyze various data in an effort to assess the needs of students and faculty and staff members. We also offer recommendations for creating necessary support systems in coordination with other departments of the Campus Life and Health Support Center.

*We cannot answer questions about a given student or faculty and staff member’s use of the Campus Life and Health Support Center without their permission (except in emergencies). We appreciate your understanding.
